The Blueprint
God’s plans for His people are immense; He did not call us to make “disciples in all nations” but “disciples of all nations” meaning that the sluggish growth that is seen in much of Christianity (Note: People Magazine did an article a few years back that showed that the fasted growing denominations experience church growth at less tha 3% annually) this is not the way that the Gospel of The Kingdom is supposed to grow. Church growth would become far far greater as we align our affections and mission with that of the heart of God. In Exodus 33:18 Moses asks God to show him His Glory and so God does so in Exodus 34, but the glory of God wasn’t necessarily that of His actual appearance but that of His character. God walks by Moses and proclaims “The Lord, The LORD GOD, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth. Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity, transgression and sin…” verse 6-7. The point is that God is concerned about character and that we manifest those attributes to the world.
In Isaiah 58 Israel is rebuked for their religious ways that are devoid of God’s love and Character, but He goes on to say what He does desire in the following verses “Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward. Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday. And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.” Isaiah 58:6-12 The Gospel is not just words, a ticket to heaven or an Easter story but the Gospel is the power of God to save and restore man to his original created value. Today we have built many grand churches and we can have all sorts of programs for people but we need to look deeper at the whole machinery of the gospel, the wheel within the wheel.
It is necessary to understand that throughout history, civilizations have always settled next to water sources. The water not only provided drink for the people and their animals, but supplied the means of watering their crops as well. Man has always needed agricultural systems to thrive, it was God’s original design that Adam and Eve be placed in a garden to tend and agriculture is truly the only system in which you can honestly get more than what you put into it, some thrity some sixty and some a hundred fold. When we look at the history of some of the greatest empires that have existed on our planet, their greatness was always attached to the fertility of their soils. Egypt with the yearly flooding of the Nile, providing fine silt as an amendment to the fertility of the next year’s crop. Babylon’s Euprates River provided for one of the wonder’s of the world the hanging gardens of Babylon. So fertile were it’s fields that city of Babylon is said to have between a 20 to 40 year supply of food inside its walls.
Even Rome was covered with fertile fields and we can learn lessons from Rome in regard to their understanding of the necessity of fertile fields and strong citizens. When Rome was forced into warring with another nation and conquered that nation, they would then salt the fields of that nation to reduce the fertility of the land. They knew the fields would no longer yield the quality of food they had prior and that the people eating those foods grown in that salted soil would not be healthy enough to overthrow the Roman yoke.
America has not learned its lesson, salt based fertilizers, with toxic aherbicides and pesticides and with genetic modification we are declining rapidly. Consider that America makes up less than 1/20 of the world’s population yet out of the 1,000,000 people diagnosed with cancer annually, Americans make up 1/2 at 500,000! This wasn’t so a century ago. in 1900 only 1 in 20 Americans got cancer but today it is 1 in 3 men and 1 in 2 women and that is after decades of “War on Cancer” and trillions of dollars in “cancer research.” All of this not to mention the skyrocketing cases of Autism, neurological disorders and a vast array of other health issues but the answer may well be found in our food and the soil it is grown in.
We can be a means for change. We can display that agriculture can be the most uplifting of any profession. Showing people how to put the nutrients back into the plants and soils to nourish humanity has the capacity to enhance more lives than anything else.
In a world where over a billion people go to bed with empty stomachs and the rest of the population suffers from malnourishment, there is an answer- and it is in the Blueprint. Consider when doing outreach/evangelism and yet your audience hasn’t had a decent meal for a while, in India there are over a billion people that don’t get adequate protein which could be fixed through proper agriculture. I am reminded of James 2:15-16 “If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?”If we could see that agriculture fits into the Gospel along with health and healing I believe the words of Isaiah would be fulfilled “Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily.”
It should become evident that agriculture plays a role in the gospel commission that cannot be overlooked. The Blueprint entails combining Gospel Evangelism with Medical Missionary health work (The Right Arm) and the Remineralized Agriculture (the Left Arm).
God has promised to restore us spiritually through the gift of the Spirit, physically he can heal us this way too, but we shouldn’t forget the part that our farmer, that agriculture and soil play. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2Ch 7:14
Working Together
It is far from complete but as for now we are working on restoring the Blueprint. Home for Health, God’s Physician, and Golden Moments Farm are three ministries that are working in tandem with each other. Each ministry has a sphere of influence but together there is a greater influence than separated. There is more that can be done but God is blessing. Also, we do desire to replicate this pattern elsewhere and it is our desire that other families will come into God’s field, teaming up with others that can help flesh out the work better.
